We might be well aware that flowers come with meaning. Oftentimes, people give flowers to their loved ones to convey a message that they couldn’t directly say with words. Not a lot of people know when it started but it actually dated back during the Victorian era. Back then, people went as far as to not been allowed to talk to each other, especially those that belong in different statuses. This often happened with people who were romantically involved. People started to create beautiful bouquets to convey messages that words couldn’t deliver. Here’s a few of our favorite flowers and what they actually mean.
Azalea
The azalea flower blooms in a few states in the US and in the country of Japan. It can mean a lot of things but oftentimes, it could imply “take care of yourself for me”. Its pink color symbolizes the beautiful, delicate, and soft femininity and womanhood according to Chinese belief.
Daisy
This flower is known for its ability to open in the morning and close in the evening. It is one of the best symbolisms of purity and innocence; most especially, attributed by its pure white petal colors. Also, daisies are believed to symbolize loyalty to love and commitment to a shared secret. Interestingly, Daisy is the Latin version of the girl’s name, Margaret.
Narcissus
If you are a fan of Greek mythology, you might be familiar of the story of Narcissus. This flower embodies the spirit of that young man who fell in the river because of his extreme love for himself, or simply, egotism. It can also symbolize the message, “Please stay sweet as you are.”
